Summary

This session unwraps the layers of how children develop numeracy skills and explores key methods for enhancing numeracy concepts through play-based learning.
Participants will be encouraged to reflect on the educator’s role to create opportunities for numeracy learning across the curriculum.
 
 


This session/series aligns with the following VIT Australian Professional Standards for Teaching at the Proficient Teacher Level:
  • 2.5 Literacy and numeracy strategies
  • 3.3 Use teaching strategies

Learning Outcomes
  • Deepen understanding of children’s numeracy development
  • Gain strategies for creating numeracy-rich learning environments
  • Develop insights into diverse ways of identifying and scaffolding numeracy learning
