Gowrie Victoria is pleased to bring you Supporting children’s play, leisure and learning in school age care: A professional learning resource for school age care educators.
Funded under the Australian Government Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP) and produced in partnership with Community Child Care Association, the resource kit has been developed to support Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services to embed My Time, Our Place: Framework for School Age Care in Australia (FSAC) into practice.
About the resource kit
This resource kit has been designed specifically for those in OSHC leadership roles, to support their work in leading and deepening educators’ understanding of FSAC. Responding to the needs of OSHC leaders, the content of the kit has a focus on planning, practice and reflection. OSHC leaders can use the kit to:
  • Provide OSHC educators with a variety of resources and strategies to support professional learning experiences
  • Increase educators’ understanding of FSAC and how it fits with the National Quality Framework and the National Quality Standard
  • Facilitate opportunities to reflect on the big ideas in FSAC
  • Encourage educators to use the language and ideas in FSAC in their conversations with others about their work
  • Motivate educators to use FSAC to inform their daily work with children and families
  • Support continuous improvement
About the train-the-trainer professional development
This train-the-trainer session will support OSHC leaders to use the kit in the ongoing professional development of their educators. Referring to the kit, the session will focus on ways – tools and strategies – leaders can deepen educator understanding of FSAC.
Each participant attending the professional development session will be given a copy of the kit.
Where possible, we recommend that two participants from each OSHC service attend, to support shared learning and embed change in practice.

Learning Outcomes
  • Understand the purpose and content of the kit
  • Utilise the kit in a meaningful and flexible way
  • Gain strategies to develop and deliver related professional development in an OSHC service
$176.00 Per Participant (inc GST)
