Summary

This session focuses on the learning potential of engagement with the local community – the people and the resources.  Explore ways for your program to become an ‘active presence’ in your local area with a clear purpose and identified links to the curriculum. The session includes a brief community walk in the local Docklands precinct based on the Gowrie children’s program connections.
 


This session/series aligns with the following VIT Australian Professional Standards for Teaching at the Proficient Teacher Level:
  • 1.3 Learners with diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds

Learning Outcomes
  • Enriched understanding of how community links can support children’s learning
  • Develop strategies to connect with the local community
$148.50 Per Participant (inc GST)
